Movies And Money On The Internet

Movies and money on the internet? I know you are wondering what that has to do with anything that may be running through your mind right now. That’s easy, at this moment, I have seen that movies that have sequels, are the safest to bet on. Yes, it is as easy as that. Remember the last time you watched a James Bond movie and liked it? I bet you watched all the following sequels if you did. It would be much more difficult if it was a new movie that you are unsure about and someone is asking you to spend your valuable money to buy a ticket and watch it. Anyway, People will always be willing to pay for a movie that they liked, the first time it was released. Therefore chances are high that they will like the sequel, and pay to go see it.

Another way to generate revenue from films is to put up your own blog that critiques the films, and offer people an opportunity to comment on your posts. If a film like Harry potter and the half blood prince, that is doing so well currently at the box office was to feature as a topic of discussion on your blog, be rest assured that millions of kids around the world would want to have a say on it.

This is just one segment of entertainment that can generate revenue for you on the internet. I will be delving deeper into it in my subsequent articles. Take this advice and apply it practically, then watch as you become well on your way to being an internet millionaire!

Movies and Television on DVD

Movies, they have been around to entertain us for over 100 years. Over this time, technology has improved to allow us to watch movies at home via 8mm reel to reel, VHS and Betamax video tape, CD-ROM (VCD movies) and currently DVD format. The DVD format, emerged informally as “digital versatile disc” around 1995. Research by Sony/ Philips and Toshiba around this time came from looking for alternatives to CD-ROM and VHS/Beta tapes as a replacement.

DVD has become a popular format for not just movies but for several platforms of media today, used in formats like DVD players for movies and TV series, consoles like the PlayStation and XBOX, and for Personal Computers (which are also used for storage, the DVD-R +R, DVD-RW & DVD-RAM formats).

Since 2005, Sony and Toshiba have again gone head to head with Bluray (Sony) and HDDVD (toshiba) and with those of you old enough to remember the Betamax (Sony) and VHS (Toshiba) it is reminisce of the format wars of 25 odd years back.

For most, these two new formats are generation II of DVD, Bluray has a slightly larger capacity than HDDVD (around 30 Gb compared to DVD of around 4.7Gb) and uses a thinner blue laser on players (large red lasers are used on players that play cd and dvds) and HDDVD although slightly less capacity than Bluray (around 25Gb) uses a thinner red laser and is easier to manufacture in plants that make standard dvd discs. This presents new issues for the consumer. Which do I buy? What are the advantages and disadvantages? What is the cost?

Holographic DVD is also another emerging format that looks like getting commercial release in about 2009 and has storage looking to 200Gb and upwards. Thats about half a million MP3’s, or about 400 hours of Standard Definition video or 80 hours of High Definition video. Whew !

Standard definition video ? High definition video? What the heck is this you ask. It is how a picture or video playback is displayed on a screen and that screen needs to be capable of High Definition playback (TV, rear projection. LCD or Plasma), TV and Video/ DVD has played back in Standard Definition for about the last 50 years. It is approximate to 800 x 600 DPI on a computer screen, where High Definition is approximate to 1280 x 1024 DPI on a computer screen.

Digital download (the internet and wireless internet), another emerging technology not just for viewing video on computers, but for cell phones as well. Cable TV, TIVO, Digital or broadband TV (IPTV), yes yet more technologies on the TV front vying for your hard earned dollar. Most consumers in the USA already have these 3 technologies.

Confused ? Thats understandable. Its 2007 and we haven’t had more to choose from to get TV or movie entertainment than any other time before it. We don’t know what technology will be available in 5, 7 or 10 years, but one thing is sure. No matter how good the tech is, the best will be the one that consumers desire to use the most…

Try Using Movie and Internet Style Advertising

You have looked at all your options for advertising and in need of a new opportunity? Try using movie and internet style advertising and sales to promote your local business

1) There is a lot of local advertiser using the dead time before a movie starts to promote their businesses. They are maximizing the benefits of the time that you are waiting and their exposure to the consumer at the same time. Their message is given out in a presentation style that also keeps you entertained for this short time. It is a win- win for the businesses and the theater.

2) You message can be one of offerings of discounts or of simply options on what the movie goers can do after the show. Food or dessert type businesses do well in this venue. Car dealerships, furniture stores, even the US Army and National Guard use this time to promote their wares. The possibilities are endless. Pair that with an easy to remember web address and you will have made an impact and possibly many sales, as well.

3) The audience is almost captives as they wait for the movie to start, so they are really likely to focus on your message and draw conclusions on how it affects their lives. They are also more likely to discuss your proposition amongst those they came with, thus reinforcing your advertisement. They are also very receptive state of mind as they have come here wanting to be entertained.

Using movie and internet style advertising and sales to promote your local business allows you to be heard and offer your customers an introduction to your business in a relaxed, happy atmosphere. That can really create a bond between your business and your customer. The key just knowing how to market yourself.

Movies and TV Series Have an Impact on Emotional

The world as represented by the media:

Global warming

War in Iraq

Child soldiers in Africa

Massive unemployment in the west

Rising prices for food, rent and gas

Heart attacks, stress and cancer

Deforestation and poaching

Housing shortage

Increasing crime levels

Increasing divorce rates

Blue collar crime

Now you know why I NEVER watch the news. Does the above information affect my life? Yes if I pay attention to it. No if I FOCUS on what I desire in my life.

Okay so tell me I’m ignorant I simply have to know what’s going on to be informed and come across as an educated person that the tribe wants to do business with. Well I don’t belong to the tribe and they can do business amongst themselves thank you. Yeah I don’t even watch TV. Okay so that’s a lie. I do watch TV, but I choose very carefully. Non of that mindless sitcom, violent movies and the news. I stay focused on what I desire all the time and I find that if I watch trash I get trash! The power of what the mind exudes is still not quite analysed by the scientists yet. But it is now a fact that our thoughts send out waves just like the broadcast station. So it makes sense that what we watch affects us.

So are you going to fill your mind with more news that will get you no where?
Deforestation (my blues) is a terrible crime against the planet but the more I focus on getting rich I’m able to put my money where my mouth is and help organisations that I approove of. I’m in a position to give money which is what systems require to educate the public. But by just watching the news all I’ll see is more land laid bare, see more stories of the poor people and the animals that have no where to go. Those impressions make me sad and depressed and I don’t get to help the forest, the people or the animals. The only thing I’ve done is given the TV station another viewer. Another viewer means the TV station has another stastitic for the media buyers that place commercials. You get the drift now of how this works?

I’ll tell you something else one of my businesses is making movies. How’s that? Even more reason I should be watching the TV and the movies I’ve been told so I can see what my competition is up to! I don’t care for competition. The only thing I compete against is myself. I choose the producers I work with, I choose the kind of movie and commercials I desire to be involved with. And I’m doing just splendidly but if I watch all the negative stuff I’ll be led to believe that I must be happy to get any job, because the media and every body that pays attention to the media will tell you, work is hard to come by.

So what are you watching?

Are you sitting with your family infront of the TV watching senseless violent movies and stupid sitcoms that reinforce its okay to be stuck in a rut? Do you and yours talk about what you are watching? Is your child left to work everything out on his/her own? At least talk about what you are watching. The media is made up of hype and the news channels thrive on getting it delivered to the public as quickly as possible. Movies and commercials are thought up by other people’s minds – often only with profit in mind. Violent movies are top box revenue collectors. The more individuals that enjoy that kind of entertainment the more those kind of movies will be produced. And yes violent movies do perpertrate feelings of fear and anguish. Lets face it we get involved in the movies we watch. That’s what entertainment is about – letting go and getting engrossed.

Learn New Languages With Foreign Language Movies

Watching foreign language movies is a popular way of learning a new language. This is not surprising as movies are entertaining as well.

Foreign Movie Subtitles
It is important to note that while it is possible to learn a language via foreign language movies, you should also try to practice what you have learned with someone who actually speaks the language you are interested to learn as a first language, so that your mistakes can be corrected accordingly.

The most important thing when purchasing foreign language movies for learning purposes is the availability of subtitles. Do not just get a foreign language DVD with English subtitles. Get one with subtitles in the original language the movies was shot in. This way, you not only learn how a language is spoken, but also how it is written, provided the majority of the writing uses the basic Latin alphabet.

I would recommend actually jotting down the foreign subtitles together with its English translation as it does seem to help in memorizing the newly learned words.

Audio Media
Aside from foreign language movies, you can also use other media in your quest to learn a new language. Though most language lessons can be found on CDs, quite a few can be found on the popular mp3 format.

This format will enable students to carry their lessons in tiny mp3 players wherever they go. They can learn on the bus, in the car, while cycling, at the gym or when they go for a run. Admittedly, this might not be the most effective way to learn a language, but many people feel comfortable learning this way.

One of the plus points about the mp3 format is its small file size. This means that you can compress many hours of lessons into a player the size of your thumb.

I find that apart from actually attending a proper language class, foreign language software is a fantastic way to learn a new language. Most language software are interactive. Some have built it games to make learning a new language all the more fun.

The more advanced software makes use audio software and an online data base to help correct intonation and pronunciation mistakes. This is as close as you can get too actually having a teacher right there beside you.
